Look, we’re friendly and we certainly don’t bite. We’re not scary. Yes, we sing what you might call a more traditional repertoire, and, yes, we have fun!
New members are always welcome to our friendly choir, and no formal audition is required. You do not need to be able to read music, as we learn all of our music during our weekly rehearsals. You’ll find you’ll learn how to read music as we go along as well.
We sing a wide range of pieces in our three concerts per year. Our Christmas concert is a family affair, with carols for the choir to sing as well as popular carols for the audience to sing. We are normally joined by a choir from a local primary school. In our other concerts we include both traditional classical music, such as Mozart’s Requiem (February 2014), or Handel’s Messiah (April 2016), as well as more modern works such as music from West Side Story or Les Miserables (May 2014).
We meet every Wednesday (from September to June) from 7.30pm to 9.30pm at Higher Bebington URC, Higher Bebington Road, Wirral CH63 2PL. The church is found about half-way along Higher Bebington Road, immediately opposite Bebington High Sports College.
So why not come along and give it a go? There’s no immediate commitment to join, and no subs are payable until you are sure you would like to join. There’s even scientific research that singing in choirs makes you happy, so what are you waiting for?
